A brief history of i-D magazine

Founded by Terry Jones, former art director for British Vogue, the first issue of i-D was published as a hand-stapled fanzine and was distributed from the trunk of a Cadillac. Today it is one of the leading glossies in the fashion world, selling on newsstands around the globe. Over the years, many famous photographers started their careers at the publication, Wolfgang Tillmans, Mario Testino, Terry Richardson, Nick Knight and Juergen Teller being some of them.

In a move to expand their reach into the digital world, i-D joined the VICE MEDIA family in 2012. It has since created a leading video content platform, presenting audiences with a wide spectrum of interviews, documentaries and more.
