What is the history of Salomon?

Francois Salomon opened a workshop for wood saws and ski-edges in Annecy, France in 1947, where he worked together with his wife and son George. The family-business would soon start making innovative bindings for skis and make their first appearance at an Olympic Games in Chile in 1966. After becoming the world’s leading binding manufacturer, Salomon moves on to create their first skiing boots to great success. Further ventures into gear and other mountain sports follow, with a great number of world-class athletes competing and winning in Salomon equipment, solidifying the brands status as one of the premier companies in the industry.
